Columbia Water Gardens began with the inspiration of its owner, Carl Petite, and his passion for koi ponds and water features. One of the disappointing things that he found was that there were only a handful of local knowledgeable pond suppliers in his area, and driving to them was a chore as they were over 45 miles away. So, his ambition was to create a full service website offering pond supplies with free shipping, straight forward pricing, friendly free advice, and a pond forum for people living in rural areas all across the United States and Canada. This dream for a “one stop place to shop” continues today with constant improvements to our website, environmentally friendly downloadable catalogs, the launch of our brand new “membership free” pond forum, and online customer service. Our ambition is to recruit new people to the hobby, give personalized advice, sincere customer service, and make a positive impact to local communities all across North America.

Retail Return Policy
When purchasing from ColumbiaWaterGardens.com you get a 15 Day Money Back Guarantee. Minus what we charge for returns:

  • We deduct the actual shipping and handling fees
  • A 30% Restocking fee
  • This applies to most items unless noted in writing.
  • Credits are usually processed with 7 days of receipt of item.
  • If your item was used there will be a 40% restocking fee and the actual shipping and handling fees.

    Exchanges: When exchanging brand new items for another product, we follow the same policies outlined here  without restocking fees!

    Lamps Including UV and Halogen cannot be returned for any reason.

    Merchandise must be returned in the original brand new condition as delivered to you. This means that the item is not used (even for a few seconds) is resalable with all materials that the item came with including the original box and inserts.
     

  • Closeouts, special orders, cut items such as tubing, pond liner and underlayment; foods, water treatments, UV lamps and halogen bulbs as well as daily deals and Weekly and monthly specials are not returnable.
  • Return Policy only applies to retail sales. Wholesale sales have their own policy.
  • All returns must be sent to us at the senders expense. ColumbiaWaterGardens.com cannot incur shipping charges for returned packages.
     

    * Returned items must have a Return Authorization Number Clearly noted on the top of the box. Items that do not have this number will be be refused at the senders expense.
     

  • Here are Some Special Notes on the Return Policy

    Pond supplies including but not limited to Pumps, Lights, UV's, Filters, etc.:

  • If the item you buy turns out to be the wrong one please contact us immediately for an "R.G.A. (Return Goods Authorization)"
  • We cannot accept items that have been used excessively or abused in any manor.
  • Standard restocking fees and shipping policies apply
  • If the mistake was our fault then there are no restock fees and we pay the shipping both ways.
  • Consumables including but not limited to Foods, Water Conditioners and Water/Fish treatments and Medications

  • These cannot be returned since they are consumed and used in the treatment of water and/or livestock.
  • Cut Items such as Tubing, Liners and Underlayment
    • These cannot be returned since they have been cut from a single piece.

    UV Lamps and Halogen Bulbs

  • These cannot be returned regardless of being used or new.

    Free or Reduced Freight


  • If you received FREE or Flat Reduced Rate shipping and you decide to return your order to us, we will gladly send you a refund minus the shipping & handling charges we incurred plus the appropriate restocking fees as stated above.
  • If you are returning a partial order be advised that we will minus the complete shipping charges if the part of the order that you keep is under the cutoff for free freight. 
  • Handling Fees are non refundable.

    Damaged and Defective Items
    If your purchase is found to be defective or damaged within 3 days of arrival, please call us and let us know so that we can take care of it. After 3 days please look to your warranty information if applicable.


  • Any damages incurred from packages shipped via UPS or FedEx will be claimed by us. Packages shipped by USPS will need to be claimed by the receiver. Please allow up to 30 days for processing.
     
  • If an item is defective when received please contact us immediately and we will assist you in getting this corrected. We cannot give you your money back just because an item is defective, damaged or lost in transit.
  • Receipt of Freight by Common Carrier

  • For your benefit, inspect all merchandise before signing or write on the bill of lading:

    "Not for Hidden Damages"

  • If the above is not written on the bill of lading, the carrier denies damage claims and we cannot be liable. All freight is our property until you sign for it or receive it.
  • By signing or receiving you are accepting possession of the products and they are now your property.

  • All prices are subject to change without notice.  This is very rare, so If you order an item and it is incorrectly priced, we will call you and notify you of the discrepancy and cancel the order refunding your purchase price in full.
