At Columbia Water Gardens we take your koi health seriously.
Did you know that poor quality koi food can lead to poor water quality? Most people don't. In fact, often times we are called to a client's home to help with poor water quality and find that the fish food they are feeding their koi or goldfish is very high in phosphate, low in fat, and low in protein.
Let me explain why this is bad.
- High phosphate feed algae
- Protein imbalance digests poorly
- Low fat = poor fish health during the winter
We recommend Nijikawa in our retail store. It is extremely high in fat and protein, and negligable in phosphate. Aquascape fish food is also excellent as it contains probiotics that are healthy for your fish and your pond.
Bottom line - our ponds sparkle, and our fish are healthy and big! If you have questions, call us or chat with us live in the lower right corner of your screen. |
